Microsoft has a support lifetime for each of their products. Below is a list of software that has or soon will reach its end of life and support. You should not run software that is not supported, since it may contain security issues that are not fixed and can put your computer and information at risk. This new release updates and replaces the 2016 versions of Word, Excel, etc. And includes many of the new features that have been rolled out to Office 365 users over the past three years. A single standalone copy of Office 2019 for Windows or Mac costs $150, and that’s just for one device. If you paid for Office 2016 instead of subscribing to Office 365, we recommend you stick with it and don’t bother paying for Office 2019. Office 2016 is the new version of the desktop Office suite, for both Windows and Mac OS X; the first time the two platforms have been in sync. You can buy Office 2016 on its own, for a one-time. Office 2016 is a version of the Office productivity suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc), typically accessed via the desktop. Office 365 is a cloud-based subscription to a suite of programs including Office 2016. This means you have a few options for purchasing Office 2016: a stand-alone product or as part of an Office 365 subscription.
